Election Thoughts – FURTHERMORE – The news letter of America News and Views Mar. 1

Monday, March 5, 2012 7:13 AM

Host Bob Murphy, Co-Host and the Boss Dale Fellows, Write In Senate Candidate Rusty Bliss, and Mark Holder were in the studio and for the second half Jessica Krammer stooped by for a visit.

Bob is always open with his thoughts but in this show he reveals his true desire of who he would like to see as president and its not the candidate he is a delegate for.

Election Thoughts & More

I wrote in the last news letter that I received a robocall from the Mitt camp blasting Santorum for running ads wooing Democrats to vote for him in Michigan.
Well well well… What is all over the internet? Romney was the one who pushed for the open primary in Michigan. So Santorum takes advantage of this by trying to get Democrats to vote for him and Mitt cry’s foul. The way Mitt is running his campaign makes you wonder how he ever became a multimillionaire.

And what about this bit of interesting trivia… In the ’92 primary Mitt Romney voted for Democrat Paul Tsongas.

The thing that is troubling to me is this…. It took YEARS to change the image of the Republican Party from one of being strictly a rich white mans party. Little by little it was being chipped away and then Reagan became president. It was because of him the Conservative Right was born or at least had a major revival. If Mitt grabs the nomination he will undo all the changes that have been made to the GOP and once again it will be known as the party of rich white men and the Conservative Right well…. we will be homeless.

I hope Ron Paul will read this. On Lawrence O’Donnell show he had as a guest a lesbian who was upset that the priest refused her communion at her mothers funeral. O’Donnell and this woman went on and on how bad this was. The church eventually buckled and issued an apology.

This is nothing more than another attack on our religious liberties. This priest was in the right to refuse this woman communion if he felt she was violating the sanctity of it and the church bylaws. That’s why we need a leader NOW who understands that religion is under attack in this country and that it needs to be protected. A Federal Marriage Amendment is needed in this country before any more of our religious heritage and freedom is eroded.

Jay Sekulow has sunken-low. The Chistian Lawyer who heads ACLJ that fights for moral rights and such laws as Obama Care came out and endorsed Mitt Romeny over Santorum because Santorum endorsed Sonia Sotomayor and Arlen Specter.

Help me understand this Folks cause I am mad and confused. I just donated money to Jay’s outfit to help over turn Obama Care but he then endorses a candidate that started this healthcare mess and also supported homosexual rights, same sex marriage and abortion rights over a Christian candidate that endorsed two liberals but stood up for Christian causes and even stopped partial birth abortions.

Is Jay nuts? Which is worse? He is off my list and should be viewed as alien to our Conservative causes.

I been receiving heat for my stance of telling people not to vote in November if Mitt is the nominee. My thinking is this, our goal should not only be to defeat Obama but to replce him with a true conservative moral leader.

Lets just suppose moderate to liberal Mitt wins the presidency and does nothing or screws up voters will be very angry once again and the pendalum will swing back to the left and Republicans will be ousted from the House and Senate as backlash. So its best to concentrate on retaining countrol of the House and win the Senate if Romney gets the nomination and not vote for the presidential slot in November.

George Will has said just about the same thing recently in varying words but has included all the GOP candidates which is where we disagree. Maybe now you will understand what I was saying because I am no longer alone with this thinking.

Also another reason…. We keep talking about changing things but then we go out and vote for the establishments candidate. When are we as voters going to have a spine and say NO you will not dictate the candidate that we vote for. Thats the only way to change things.

No matter how hard they try they can’t get prayers and God out of school. A Chardon student was interviewed immediately after the shooting and the reporter asked him what they could do. The student replied – PRAY FOR US! It’s as simple as that, pray for us.

Maybe in another news letter I can explain what is going on with the youth for that matter adults as well who are snapping and doing extreme things. The more social tinkering, the more the outcome will be bad.

So that’s what liberals think. At a restaurant I asked the waitress if she was going to vote. She said she is not into politics to which I responded well vote for the one who promises cheaper gas because we can’t afford these prices and as a hint, its not Obama. She said actually I went to Washington to protest the pipe line. In politite terms I said why, we cant afford these prices we need that pipe line. She came back at me with well then you will have to do like I do pick up another job so you can afford the gas.

Most people can’t even find one job and she wants me to work two just to pay for gas? Thats liberal thinking.

Carey Masci
Friends,
I hope you are ready for Tuesday. You need to get out there and vote.

As long as you are informed and vote what your conscience dictates then there is no right or wrong vote. The important thing is – VOTE.

This is your chance to make a difference. No vote is ever wasted. Even in a losing effort your vote represents an oposing view that can open dialoge and change things in the future.

Just vote!

Your Friend,
Bob Murphy

FURTHERMORE – The news letter of America News and Views March 8

Host Bob Murphy, Our Tea Party Liaison Carey Masci, Former Senate Candidate Rusty Bliss, and Mark Holder.

Bob revealed something on the show that everyone needs to hear. In fact Bob said that this was probably the most important thing he has ever said on the show in the 15 years of doing it. Please listen, it will shed new light on this years Republican primary process.
I know the below commentary may be late because we have already voted in Ohio but I wrote this because of what I keep hearing.

It gets real tiring trying to explain to people that the main objective is not to defeat Obama. It isn’t, plain and simple, it isn’t. We are in the primary season and Obama is not a concern of ours yet. The goal for the Republicans should be to nominate the most qualified, the most conservative and the one who follows the principles of the party. Voting for anyone else who falls short of these points is a wasted vote. I don’t know why this is so hard to understand. People seem to be skipping over the primary process.

YES – I do know how the media and the MITT-nipulation that has been pounded into your psyche that only Mitt can beat Obama can mislead you but still that is no excuse for not doing your homework. Even Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said on a major cable news show when asked why he was for Mitt but now for Santorum said I didn’t think Santorum had a chance to win…… Wonderful!!! Even our attorney general has fallen prey to this thinking of trying to pick a winner instead of voting on principles but at least he has woke up.

I myself when I made my decision back in April that Santorum was my candidate I did so not because he had the best chance of winning I chose Santorum because he has scored above average to very good in ALL categories, he was consistent and adhered the most to conservative philosophy. I wasn’t concerned about beating Obama or if Santorum could win.

Let me put it in sports terms using baseball as an analogy. Santorum reminds me of the player who may never hit 50 home runs but you can always depend on him to come through, a team player, a real leader. When the game is on the line you want him up to bat because somehow he will get on base.

That’s what people need to consider before voting, who is the best candidate and quit worrying about the outcome. I chose Santorum because I believe he is a the true conservative and if he wins the nomination I won’t have to worry about beating Obama in November because the best player will be coming up to bat.

Commentary about what is going on within the Republican Party:
I am a team player only when the team I am on plays by the team rules and bylaws that the team has set forth and are suppose to follow; that’s why I joined or chose to be part of the team because I agreed with their platform.

But when the team I am on drifts from their rules they can not expect me to follow the teams path or go along with them. Sure I could be like some and toss aside the rulebook or I could stay and fight to change the team back to its principles or I can look for another team that has principles that align with my beliefs and that stands firm and steadfast to their party rules.

But this I do know I for sure will not sit back and do nothing. The former team could ostracize me for supporting another team but its their actions that have caused me to drift not my own.

I wrote this in regards to what happens if Mitt gets the nomination. I will be looking into a third party candidate – PERIOD.

I said on air that our elections are turning into a third world circus. Bob disagreed with me but this is what I meant by that statement.

When I was in the Philippines 2 years ago it was during their elections. The newspapers had numerous reports of vote tampering and buying votes. Some candidates were outside of polling places handing out bottles of water and some were giving away $5 if you voted for them. And its widely reported especially in countries with dictators or that are communism that the vote count is played with or so slanted towards the candidate they want to win its almost impossible for the opponent to compete.

Now I am not saying we are there yet in America with this kind of behavior but if we don’t get a handle on it it wont be far off. But then again the way that super pacs are run with countless dollars and all the negative ads and changing primary rules to benefit a candidate maybe its closer than I think.

Carey Masci

Friends,
Here we are in March with no clear winner regardless of all the money spent on ads declaring a winner in the Republican primary.
I still feel when the American people are given all the facts they will do the right thing and this proves it. The media can only go so far. Ultimately in the end its up to the voter to educate him or herself and we are seeing that happen.

Your Friend,
Bob Murphy

America News and Views news letter – FURTHERMORE
There was room in the booth as only Host Bob Murphy and Write In Senatorial Candidate Rusty Bliss were in but that didn’t stop them from filling the airwaves with the truth you need to hear.

Being absent I enjoyed kicking back and listening to the show. Another side of Capt’ Bliss came out, his personality really shined on this show. Great guy.

_________________________________________________________

In this letter I am going to give you random things to think about.

Get ready folks these high gases prices are going to be budget busters for all local governments. There is no way they will be able to balance the books. So look for these things to happen if gas continues its upward climb. Taxes levies, increase in licenses and permits of all sorts AND be careful where you park and how you drive. The revenue (police) will be out in force to help bring in much needed funds. Drive smart and alert.

There is this feel sort of like a feeding frenzy of hungry piranhas. Everyone needs to stop. We have to ask ourselves what are we trying to prove? There are no perfect candidates. Some of the questions I have been fielding about Santorum are things so absurd its ridiculous, such as is he for abortion? That’s crazy! Quit listening to the liberal media and Mitt and Ron’s ads. Do you own research or listen to shows like Bob Murphy’s where you won’t get mislead.

The only candidate I am staunchly against is Mitt. You can go to numerous web sites and listen to him then and now. He has switched positions on so many issues where does he stand??? Mitt would be a disaster going up against Mr. GQ who can have poise and debate well. Not only that but you know darn well it will be brought out front and center Obama’s background is of community service and Romney’s is of Wall Street that caused the problems. Obama understands your plight Romney has no clue, trust me this is coming.

This is what I wrote in May of 2011 it’s a review of the first GOP debate.
Sometimes you need to use common sense with the Constitution as with all laws and life. Technically he (Paul) is right but would legalizing drugs help this country? Would legalizing drugs make crime go down? Would it lower the number of people who need mental health clinics? Receive welfare? This is a national issue, not a state issue. The same with marriage, you cannot allow states to make their own marriage laws. What happens if two people marry and then move into a state that doesn’t recognize it? This is obviously a national issue. Ron needs to tone down his freedom a little. In a free society you have to restrict certain freedoms to ensure that freedom continues. PERIOD!

So the winner is Senator Rick Santorum. If you asked me what one thing I liked about his message or can I quote him, honestly I can’t. But he said a lot of little things right. He is morally to the right, which really comes out strong listening to him. His limited government stance is also a positive. But the biggest thing going for Santorum is his moral beliefs. America needs someone right now that knows right from wrong. I believe Senator Rick Santorum is the man.

For this reason I have somewhat soured towards Ron Paul. His statement of Santorum is a fake in the last debate just struck me as this guy is not prime time ready to represent the US. If anything look into Santorums morals and characters and the fact he is pro-life that is starting to swing the pendulum towards over turning Roe Vs Wade. To say fake Paul does not understand what being a Conservative means and he has not looked into the good Santorum has done to push the dialog and country back to the right. If Paul loses he has no one to blame except himself for taking extreme positions. Plus with all the chaos going on right now, we need someone who is firm and steady in his moral beliefs. America is eroding fast.

We are down to 4 on the GOP side that’s it. The media keeps talking about a possible brokered convention where someone else such as Palin could waltz in and grab the nomination if the delegates cannot agree on a choice. I would be adamantly against such a thing. I chose my candidate Santorum back in April after reviewing the candidates; it took just a week to do so. I figured if you couldn’t make up your mind if you are running for the most important position in the world you are not ready to have my vote. So if someone comes to the convention and says I’M HERE without going through the primary process they ain’t getting my vote – PERIOD.

Finally… Friends we have to be careful here. The goal of any enemy is confusion. Once you confuse the people and divide them they are conquered. So before asking me my opinion on a subject, which I am honored you do so but…, please check the source of where it came first. If it’s from the left side you are not going to get the truth, that should get you started in the right direction.

The Greek House meeting review, Udovic – Shannon – Bauman – Lisy – Fiebig

The Greek House Review
I want to thank everyone who attended the meeting at the Greek House in Wickliffe this past Monday February 20.  It was an informative meeting with a lot of back and forth with the speakers.

Joe Udovic opened the meeting with prayer for unity within our group and our country followed by the Pledge of Allegiance that was started by Jimmy Kelly.

The first order of business was introducing Jimmy Kelly Presidential candidate for 2036.   That made everyone chuckle and applaud him.  But I really do feel he has a future either in politics or public speaking, at 14 he is more than knowledgeable on the issues.

The first speaker of the night was Joe Udovic who spoke on a letter he received at his house. It involved the EPA and the wastewater treatment plant.
Euclid is asking residents to pay an additional 10 dollars per month on a quarterly basis for sewer charges. 2 public meetings have been scheduled Sat Feb 25, 10 am and Thu March 1, 7 pm.  We need to get organized with the Republican Party and Tea Party and take a stand immediately. Residents cannot afford any more fees.

Next to speak was Ellie Shannon.  Ellie informed us of the Personhood amendment for Ohio.  She likes the Heartbeat bill but it doesn’t go far enough.  The Personhood amendment would give a fetus the right to life.  She passed out the petition for us to sign it and encouraged other to help gather signatures to get this on our Ohio ballot.

Pastor Melinda Bauman came up next.   I made everyone laugh when I said Pastor Melinda will give a short 5 minute sermon so you better relax we could be here till midnight.  The title of her message was “The God of America”.  It was about the Christian roots and heritage of America.  Pastor Melinda did keep it short because of time constraints so I will have her back to give the full message.  Stay tuned for that I think you would enjoy hearing it.

The main speaker of the night was Ron Lisy who is running for State Central Committeeman.  Ron explained what the position is for.  A State Central Committeeman’s job is to get feedback from fellow Republicans in his district and then go to Columbus to voice those concerns back to the Republican headquarters.  Ron is tired of HUGE amounts of money being spent on beating fellow Republicans when that money can be saved to battle the Democrats in the general election.  He wants to see the party go back to its roots and quit drifting to the left.
  Ron Lisy was a delegate for Mike Huckabee and currently a delegate for Rick Santorum.

Half way through the meeting Dave Fiebig joined us.  I had fun with Dave by introducing him as such…. Our next speaker is Dave Fiebig who is running to be one of Obamas Czars.  Everyone collectively gave a HUHHHHH!!!  I thought it was funny.

Dave Fiebig is campaigning for one of the open spots for Lake County Commissioners.  Dave is a business owner, has served as Willoughby Hills councilman at large since 2008 and is a Lake County Republican Party Precinct Committee member.  He gave a short concise speech of some of the duties commissioner has and some of the needs of Lake County.

In conclusion, it was a successful night, mission accomplished.  Thanks again to those who attended and all the speakers.

America News and Views news letter – FURTHERMORE
Host Bob Murphy, Liaison for the Tea Party Carey Masci, and our guest Private
Equity Manager Mark Holder were in the booth. The following week Senatorial
Candidate Rusty Bliss and our boss Chairman Fellows joined us for the second
half.
Chairman Fellows was like a little kid on Christmas morning bursting in brimming with news Santorum is taking off like a rocket and our next president will be at the Lake County Lincoln Day dinner!!!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since I didn’t get a chance last week to write the newsletter I will combine last weeks show with this weeks.
The show on February 9th we talked about how Santorum did very well in the states with caucuses. I love the idea of caucuses but Mark Holder is not too fond of them. He thinks voting is something personal and private and shouldn’t be done in an open forum. Mark has very valid points and he also stressed that people can be intimidated to vote against their choice. Again he has very valid points and maybe he is right but I disagreed for this reason.
In a caucus setting you can hear pro’s and cons. Too many times people vote strictly on sound bites or name recognition because they hear the ads without truly knowing the issue or the candidate. Too prove my point the states Romney won he deluged the airwaves with ads and people voted for him. In caucus states Santorum supporters showed up and revealed the truth behind those ads and the candidate.
Here’s another example how advertising works and why MILLIONS are spent on campaigns. I ran
into a friend and told him I became a delegate for Santorum. He said why, I thought Romney had the
nomination locked up. Here is a person who votes but does not have the time or passion to research the candidates in full and was buying the lie that the GOP choice was already picked.
Next topic.
The perfect storm broke in favor of Santorum. The healthcare fight reared its ugly head at
the right time. People are finally realizing that our government is forcing us to do things against our will and beliefs. This is more than just a healthcare issue. Santorum has been talking about this since day one.
Even if Catholic churches are exempt from performing abortions or providing contraception’s they are still upset as their tax dollars as well as ours who are against this will still be funding the plan. Plain and simple, Obama Care needs to go!
Another thing in favor of Santorum was the unfortunate illness of his daughter Bella. This
showed the passion and character of the man. Rick took time out to be with her during a hectic campaign schedule and the media what did they do? They tried playing it as if Santorum was going home because he was dropping out of the race. People saw right through this and made them even more upset of the cold callous behavior of the media.
Compare Santorums actions doing all he can to save his special needs daughter to that of Obama who while as senator was against giving care to infants who survived abortions. Terrible.
New Strategy
The media is now scrambling to reassess what is happening in the Republican race. They were heralding Romney the winner, the only one who is electable, the only one who could beat Obama. Of course we know why they said this. One of two reasons, Mitt is the establishment pick and or he can’t beat Obama.
But now with the Santorum surge Lawrence O’Donnell had this to say about Mitt that he is the most liberal Republican candidate while Santorum is the most conservative. DUH??? No kidding. He then went on to say this is what he has been waiting for, Obama against Santorum, (OH REALLY) the liberal vs. conservative debate, with Mitt you would only get an empty suit. And as I have said since April, C-O-N-T-R-A-S-T, CONTRAST! That’s what you will get with Santorum winning the GOP nomination contrast compared to Obama.
Bring on the debate, I am excited also.
Something’s to think about
Word has it some factories are returning to the states. In Governor Kasich’s State of the State address he pointed out a few examples of this. Obama is touting that he was responsible. Well something to think about… could it also be the high price of fuel returning these jobs? It may be cheaper to build it here than built it over seas and ship it in.
Look for this mini recovery to sputter. Oil is spiking. Every time the economy picks up a little bit those whom ever they are push the oil up, then when the economy bottoms, oil backs off. This
process keeps being repeated but each time when oil drops it’s a little bit higher than the previous mark. It seems they are determined for us to pay 5 bucks per gallon.
Look for the contraceptive and abortion to stay part of Obama Care. The only way to get rid of those two provisions is to totally get rid of the healthcare bill. Why do I say this? Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or restricting the free exercise thereof. Well in the past when it was for society’s good congress did interfere with religion, not allowing Mormons more than one wife and in the past courts have ruled you can not deny medical attention to children because
of religious beliefs, just two examples. So if the courts decide that contraception and abortion are for the good of society, they will stay in the healthcare bill.
Friends,
Things are breaking our way.
Conservatism will win out over evil. I truly believe God is not done with this country but we have to be open to his leading. We as individuals have to do the right thing and never retreat.
And Santorum…. Well he could be the Godly leader this nation has been sorely looking for.
America News and Views news letter – FURTHERMORE
Host Bob Murphy, Liaison for the Tea Party Carey Masci, Senatorial Candidate Rusty Bliss and our guest Private Equity Manager Mark Holder were in the booth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Make sure you listen to the show. Bob corrected me and made a really good point about Obama’s ineligibility you need to hear it.

Review of the candidate’s night and then some humor
Immediately after the radio show I headed to a sports bar in Mayfield to represent Santorum in a candidate’s night held by Ralph King and the Cleveland Tea Party.

I knew before I even got there that this would NOT be the atmosphere for an event such as this. It’s VERY LOUD all the time with 30 TV’s, blaring music and noise from all the patrons makes it very hard to hear just talking to the person next to you.

We finally had it quiet enough to start the event when two young kids decided to play the basketball game. That was just too funny.

Anyway…. The night was filled with senate candidate after senate candidate speaking followed by a few state rep candidates so there was no time left for the presidential delegates to speak. Treasurer Josh Mandel did not show and it did not sit well with the Cleveland Tea Party or those who attended.

There were two candidates I liked and I thought did well. Our own Rusty Bliss laid out his platform and what his main concerns are. No stumbling, just bam bam bam. Nice energetic speech that left no questions where he stands.

The other is Eric LaMont Gregory. I was impressed with him. Look up his campaign online and tell me your thoughts.

As for myself I did manage to briefly say this:
I like to call myself a Libertarian with common sense and to me the candidate that embodies both qualities of a true conservative with some libertarian views is Santorum. I was cut short not only because of time but also because I said we have to unite because Mitt is a disaster. The leader of the group is not a Romney fan at all but he did not want the night to go negative to which I apologized.

The one thing I keep hearing over and over and over again is this:
I really do like Santorum but I don’t think he can win.

My reply to that is and has been is:
If everyone would just shut up and quit listening to the media and saying Santorum can’t win and start supporting him he could and would win.
That is the biggest thing hindering Santorum. The media is portraying him, as he can’t win.

Politics and sports what a combination
Recently a Cleveland Indians pitcher was arrested for using a false name and identification.
Obama had this to say about it.
Its time I make it known to the American people that I am the real Fausto Camona and Fausto Camona is the real Barack Obama but let me assure you that our birth certificates are valid.

When Fausto Camona was asked why did he do it he said its embarrassing enough playing for the Cleveland Indians did you really think I would use my real name?

What does the White House and the Cleveland Indians have in common?
They both have an impostor.

Obama was asked about the condition of the Gulf States he said I’ve been golfing a lot lately and I don’t see any problem in those states.

Biden is such a socialist. The VP congratulated California on the Giants making it to the Super Bowl and when he was told the Giants are from New York he said I know I was just trying to spread the victory.

Misc.
Newt’s second wife let loose that Newt wanted an open marriage. If I were Newt I would of at least denied it and said something witty like I never wanted an open marriage I just wanted to close it.

When Newt was asked if his wife would make a great First Lady he said Sure she makes a great third lady so why not.

It’s better to give or is it? Mitt Romney has given away millions to charity and Obama has given away millions of your tax dollars.

Ok some of those were old news but they’re still funny, at least I think so.

Friends,
We talked about anger on the show well here is a bible verse for you.
Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.
We have to always keep this in mind in our battle, we do not want to become like the opposition we are fighting because then we would be no better.
So lets keep at it trying to restore this country but do it in a righteous manner.

MITT MITT MITT – FURTHERMORE – The news letter of America News and Views Jan. 19th

America News and Views news letter – FURTHERMORE
Host Bob Murphy, The Chairman Dale Fellows and Liaison for the Tea Party Carey Masci, and joining us by phone was Chris Boggs a specialist in organic search engine optimization.
__________________________________
I think I should start out by explaining the statement/question I made to Chris Boggs. Dale Fellows was not sure if what I said would be mistaken so to remove any doubt I will reword the question.

The question is – Could SOPA lead to the policing of blogs and the removal of anyone from posting if they write against such things as homosexuals and could it even lead to it
being considered a hate crime for doing so? I have personally felt the sting of political correctness and had a submission to a well-known site blocked.

The article I submitted was about DADT. In their exact words they wrote: As a whole, the article would be offensive to homosexuals, and thus it cannot be accepted.

So we can longer voice are opposition to unnatural life styles?

Next topic.
I am so upset with our primary and election process. If something isn’t done soon we will be no better than in some third world countries where they completely manipulate elections in favor of the ruling party or ruler or candidate of their choice.

The constant barrage from the media proclaiming that in the end Romney will win it anyway so everyone else should just bow out and get the primary over with. Has our vote become so meaningless that the media can trumpet the winner before we even voted?

That’s why I am so adamantly set against Mitt. Besides his previous record as a governor and the stances he ran on in his bid for the senate I am tired of them force-feeding us Mitt Mitt Mitt. Its gotten to the point where you turn on the weather and the weatherman says its hot out today wonder if Mitt is sweating. Our founding fathers fought to give us the right to vote and we are seeing it evaporate before our eyes.

Even though I am a delegate for Santorum I think it is a real shame that candidates like Bachman, Perry, even Pawlenty bowed out because of the financial strain and
they lacked resources to battle back against the media. There are still 47 states that have not had a say and yet we are ready to crown a winner.

Some how we have to limit the amount of money that candidates can spend. How this can be accomplished I am not really certain but it has to be addressed other wise its no longer may the best man win but the richest man or the chosen man.

Along with limiting campaign finance maybe its time to have a one or two day primary. The first date would be to whittle down the field and then in 3 months have another that declares the winner this way all states have a say.

I have to throw one more thing out. I know this may hinge on conspiracy but I am very cynical with all that is going on. I along with many others across America stayed up way late to see the outcome of the Iowa Caucus. The tallies were coming and then it stalled at about 97% returns in with Santorum holding a very slim lead. A good half hour passed and then it was reported there was a mistake. They announced the votes that recently went to Santorum are going to be reversed and will go to Romney. And then suddenly they declared Romney the winner. As you know last week the outcome was changed and Santorum was declared the winner.

Again maybe this sounds too much like a conspiracy but to me it seemed like they denied Santorum the victory to give Mitt more of a bounce into New Hampshire and take some steam away from Santorum. Even now you hear some pundits say Iowa was just about a virtual tie but before it was a win for Romney. Makes you think doesn’t it?

America News and Views news letter – FURTHERMORE
Host Bob Murphy, Liaison for the Tea Party Carey Masci, Senatorial Candidate Rusty Bliss were at the mics.
_____________
Observations on Rick Santorum and Ron Paul, two candidates the establishment didn’t figure on that would get much attention but they are and not going away any time soon.

The Santorum Effect
It’s amazing how one candidate can redirect an entire nomination process. The number one issue was suppose to be about the economy but because of Rick Santorum a dialog about faith, family, and morals has been front and center.

Santorum was right to do so, after all this is the Republican primary and home of the Christian Conservative Right the largest voting block for the GOP. This is not a marketing ploy either to garner support to win the nomination. Those who have known Rick Santorum for sometime always praise him on character and how steadfast he is with his beliefs. So Santorum is quite comfortable taking charge and leading the party back to the right because this has been his position since the get go unlike some of the other Republican candidates who are now scrambling trying to out conservative each other and distance themselves from their own past.

The media is also trying hard to put on the back burner issues of morals and saying its not that big a deal but there’s Santorum putting them back out front again and again and again. Whether America wants to admit or face it morals or the lack there of is the number one reason for the decline and mess America finds herself in.
So I congratulate Santorum for opening dialog that needed to be opened.

Dealing with Ron
Rep. Ron Paul – The most unifying and divisive political figure to enter the arena in a long time. Even though Rep. Paul has been in public service for years it is just now during the last election and this current one that he is a household name and just mentioning Ron Paul starts a debate, either for or against.

The Ron Paul phenomenon has attracted people from all age groups but number one is young people. Young adults, college kids and others who may never of wanted to get involved but are now. Whether Paul wins the nomination or not doesn’t matter his footprint has been felt in the GOP. If young people are not alienated by being shut out or become disillusioned they will be part of the reshaping of the Republican Party in the near future.

On some things Paul is way out there but on others we could learn a lot from him especially on financial concerns. So it’s time to welcome Ron Paul and his supporters to the family whether we like it or not.

Friends,
First it was Pawlenty to drop out, then Cain, Bachman and now Huntsman. That’s why it is so important to study the entire field of candidates and not just pick one that you like but pick multiple choices.
This way if one drops out and it happens to be your first choice you will be ready to rejoin the fight with your other picks.
The nomination process is as volatile as a Cleveland weather forecast and you need to be prepared for anything.
So I hope everyone is staying involved because our real battle comes in November when it comes time to take on Obama and remove him and his socialist agenda.

Bob Murphy

Iowa and Ron Paul – FURTHERMORE the News Letter of America News and Views

America News and Views news letter – FURTHERMORE

Host Bob Murphy and Our Boss – Lake County GOP Chairman Dale Fellows were in the booth.
Make sure you listen to the show, they do an excellent job reviewing the Iowa caucus and what it means and they talk about other news you need to hear.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know everything moves so fast these days and that the Iowa caucus is already old news but doing a once a week news letter like this this was the only chance I had to address it.
Well I was right about the results in Iowa wasn’t I and boy was I wrong wasn’t I?
I was not at all surprised that Santorum did so well. I said weeks prior he would. In fact I would of bet everything I had he was going to take the top prize so it was little consolation he lost by a measly 8 votes.
But I was very shocked Mitt placed as high as he did and Perry and Bachman bombed even though I did say Bachman would drop out immediately after. I figured it this way. I thought people were fed up with the establishment and that would weaken Mitts base with those votes going to Paul. I thought the moderately Conservative crowd would go to Perry which would draw more away from Mitt leaving him at the bottom.
If you break this down and study it this is what it shows. Once again, the masses that are spread out away from the city vote Conservative. Santorum had won more land mass by a HUGE margin. But those huddled in the cities vote more liberal and don’t care as much about social issues. So all it takes is plenty of money to run ads in cities and you can win an election or come pretty close to it. That was Mitts game plan and he did it well.
This next topic may seem that I’m biased towards Santorum, I am after all a delegate to represent him, but I also represent America News and Views and the Republican party so I try my best to be fair writing these news letters. One thing I don’t believe in is President Reagan’s law of not speaking ill of a fellow Republican. I feel if someone strays to far or does not speak the truth or stand up for the principles of the party it should be brought out.
The candidate that is really irking me right now is Ron Paul. He has been relentlessly attacking Santorum on earmarks and calling him a big government Conservative. But if you dig deeper you see that Paul has had his share. In 2009 Rep. Paul had sponsored or co-sponsored 23 earmarks for a total of – $80,775,750 ranking him 33rd out of 435 representatives and in 2010 15 earmarks totaling $17,113,000 ranking him 242nd. (taken from OpenSecrets.org)
Worse than that is what Gov. Perry slipped in during the Saturday night debate about Rep. Paul that I don’t think many picked up on. The fact the Paul adds all these earmarks and then votes against the spending bill to make it look like he is against it. So what’s the difference between Paul and Santorum? At least Santorum tells you he fights for his constituents to get money for them.
Continuing on… Paul is really alienating a lot of people with his attacks whether during the debate or his ads. Ron Paul’s army needs to get a hold of their man and reign him in. Santorum has said repeatedly I am not a Libertarian, I am a Conservative. So instead of Paul attacking Santorum on what he is and that is being a successful Conservative Paul should concentrate on promoting his Libertarian differences and why they are better.  This goes for Santorum also that it would be unwise to attack Paul’s Libertarian position on cutting the armed forces, drugs and same sex marriage even though it does align more with Democratic thinking.
Paul has to realize he needs to meet Republicans where they agree and promote his ideas where they don’t.
All this knifing and back and forth will spell doom for the party and we will either be left with Romney or Obama to vote for and whats the difference there?
Finally some traction has been made uncovering something I said months ago that Mitt is a money maker but not not a job creator. The numbers are starting to come out of his past business ventures about adding jobs.
Here is a question for you, I am tired of people being puppets of the media and repeating exactly what they say with no research. So, next time you meet me I want this question answered: Mitt stands the best chance to beat Obama and Mitt knows how to run a business because…. – WHY?  Please tell me.
America News and Views news letter – FURTHERMORE
Host Bob Murphy, Our Boss – Lake County GOP Chairman Dale Fellows, Liaison for the Tea Party Carey Masci, and our guest Private Equity Manager Mark Holder were at the mics.
I didn’t do much talking on the show, sometimes its good to just sit back and listen. There was still plenty of good info being passed around so go grab a cup of coffee, click the link at the bottom, sit back and listen but before you do read this weeks news letter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The buzz has been all about Iowa and the official kick off to the presidential primary. It depends on who you listen to. When their man is doing good, Iowa is important, when he isn’t, what does Iowa know its irrelevant. Iowa is indeed important as the saying goes there are only three tickets out of Iowa. I believe Iowa sets the tone and represents traditional mid-west values before heading east where liberal views are more prevalent.

Rick Santorum had this to say about this years Iowa Caucuses: Rick said There are three primaries out here in Iowa — Ron Paul’s libertarian primary, the establishment primary between Gingrich and Romney, and the conservative primary, which is me and Bachmann and Perry is trying to get into that category

I agree and that’s why weeks ago I predicted the outcome would be as such – 1. Santorum 2. Paul and 3. Perry. Why? Unless Iowa has totally forgotten their Conservative Christian beliefs, forgotten how the courts intervened and allowed same sex marriage which Santorum was right there fighting it and bought into the Mitt millions and push to get him elected Santorum should corral all the Christian Right votes. Paul stands alone and will get all the Libertarian and disgruntled votes and Perry…. I believe he is a cross between Conservative and establishment and should pull all the votes from Newt and Mitt. Out of Iowa Perry is the one to watch. I think he will start to poll better.

I have been saying all along that the road to the White House is through the Conservative Right, you forget them, you ain’t gonna win. I have also been saying and said this on American News and Views its not the economy stupid, its the morals and tried explaining that the phrase Life Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness comes with an obligation, it does not encompass what ever you want to do or what makes you feel good. Ron Paul forgets this and so did Mitt during a campaign stop in Iowa.

Mitt said: “They said that the Creator had endowed us with certain inalienable rights, among them life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, In this nation, we would be free to pursue happiness as we choose”.

Now lets hear what Santorum has to say: It doesn’t mean the pursuit of what makes one pleased or content, but rather the ability to do good according to God’s laws….. That is what when they talked about the ‘pursuit of happiness. If you go back and read the definition in Webster at the time of the Declaration, or certainly thereafter, what ‘happiness’ was defined as was doing good.

Huh? That’s what I’ve been saying but whats this new definition of the word happiness? When I heard Santorum say this I hit my books but nothing I have in my collection predates 1850. Nothing online either. But while I was at my sisters telling her this she said wait I have a reprint of an old Websters dictionary.

Here it is, one of the meanings of happiness taken from a reprint of the American Dictionary of the English Language – Noah Webster 1828 reads: 2. Being in the enjoyment of agreeable sensations from the possessions of good; enjoying pleasure from the gratification of appetites or desires. The pleasurable sensations derived from the gratification of sensual appetites render a person temporarily happy; but he can only be esteemed really happy and permanently happy, who enjoys peace of mind in the favor of God.

Well that’s sheds new meaning to that often spoken phrase. And really wouldn’t you rather have a leader that recognizes whats right and try’s to at least promote values or would you rather have a president as we do now in Obama that promotes immoral lifestyles or how about a future president that more or less says if it feels good do it?

Besides, think of it this way, if all of America would do what was morally correct or at least try would America be in the shape its in? Of course not. Our nation needs someone to lead us in that moral direction.

Friends,
I hope everyone had a memorable and enjoyable holiday. The season is always to short for me. I still thank God everyday that we can celebrate the holidays and worship as we please and politically we still can have open and free dialogues about our leaders and our nation. That’s what makes America so great.
Lets never forget this.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
